SBS most recent project involved the shipment of 40 x 325,000 litre ex cider tanks from Ireland to our customers in Norway. This was a turnkey project and the team were involved in the removal, loading, transporting, loading to ship and chartering of the vessel.
This tank was fully refurbished to suit our customers needs. This involved sandblasting, painting and recladding as well as adjusting inlet/outlets. The tank now looks like new. Buying second hand is great for the environment, reducing carbon footprint.
SBS Ayrshire purchased around 80 used stainless steel storage tanks of various size, ranging from 10,000 litres to 600,000 litres from the old Unichema Site in Bromborough, UK. 9 x 200,000 litre stainless steel fermentation vessels were purchased by SBS Ayrshire in 2018 from St James’ Gate Brewery in Dublin. We chartered a ship for these to be sent to another one of our clients in Norway.
In 2018, 30 x 95,700 litre tanks were purchased by SBS from a juice plant in Dachwig, Germany. We resold these tanks and they were shipped to various location in Europe including; Scotland, England, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, and Belgium.

Industrial Chemicals contracted SBS Ayrshire to dismantle a redundant chemical plant. This was challenging due to surrounding environment on a top tier COMAH site. Every part of the plant was required to be cut into small manageable pieces and lowered to the ground as anything falling from the plant could have had catastrophic consequences. This project lasted around 4 months.
We purchased 6 x 60,000 litre fermentation vessels from Waterford Brewery, Ireland. These were removed by our personnel and shipped from Waterford Port to one of our clients in Norway.
